KnowSeat is an in-train seat exchange platform for metro commuters. Standing passengers request seats from seated riders who are getting off at an upcoming stop — mid-ride, within the same coach. KnowSeat is operated by Rajesh Kumar Gaba (sole proprietorship), New Delhi.
Seated passengers deboarding soon mark their seat as available. Standing passengers request it for a small convenience fee. Both get notified, and the swap happens inside the train as the seated rider stands to leave.
When a standing passenger claims a seat, both parties get a one-time verification code. The seated rider confirms the code before standing up — ensuring a safe, intentional handoff inside the train.
The convenience fee is ₹3 to ₹20 per swap, depending on how crowded the line is, and is always shown before you pay. Pay with UPI, cards or net banking via Paytm, or redeem reward points. If the swap doesn't happen, you get a full refund. See Services & Pricing and our Refund Policy.
You get a full refund to your original payment method if the seat is taken by someone else, the seated rider cancels, or the handover isn't verified within 15 minutes. Points you redeemed are returned to your balance. Read the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
You get 20 welcome points. Offering your seat and completing a verified handover earns 2 to 10 points. You can also add points at ₹1 for 1 point. Use them when you claim a seat: 1 point = ₹1 off that seat claim. Added points expire 1 year after you add them. Points cannot be transferred, exchanged for cash, or withdrawn to a bank account or UPI.
